Tox Course - Module 1

This is an online Emergency Toxicology course that will teach you the practical approach to common toxicological presentations to the Emergency Department.
Module 1 includes the following lessons: Introduction to Emergency Toxicology and approach to the poisoned patient, Opiates, Quetiapine, Paracetamol, Benzodiazepines, SSRI’s and SNRI’s, Tricyclic antidepressants (TCA’s).

This course was the best health course I have ever done. I attended as an observer-I work in theatre and only visit e.d. when there is a trauma call. One of the best courses I think I’ve ever done! There was a really nice range of metro and rural clinicians on the Brisbane course, which made for some interesting discussions and a supportive environment. The facilitators were happy to tailor their advice and approach to each person’s location and resources and were really good at managing participant anxiety in simulation. It’s probably not a course well suited to junior doctors, but for anyone working as a trauma team leader or stepping up to this, I would consider it a “must do.” Kudos to the team for making something great!
