ETM Advanced Course

You can hope trauma goes well. Or you can train so it does. ETM Advanced Course – register now

Over the years, we’ve had thousands of participants go through the ETM course, many of whom loved it, but who also wanted to take their trauma training to the next level: harder decisions, more complexity, sicker patients – they told us they wanted to be taken out to the thin end of the wedge.

So we listened. We surveyed. We drafted. We iterated. We revised. And we produced the ETM Advanced course.

ETM Advanced was launched as a pilot in mid 2025 and our faculty have described it like “ETM days 4 and 5”. This course covers the reception and resuscitation of the most critically injured, peri-arrest and arrested adult, paediatric, geriatric and obstetric trauma patients.Guided by our expert faculty over 2 days, the course includes interactive lectures, small group/procedure stations and simulation scenarios.

We have also incorporated Visually Enhanced Mental Simulation (using the great kits supplied by Simulation Simplified) into the day 2 small group sessions, where we walk through adult, paediatric and obstetric traumatic cardiac arrest in a safe, guided, flexible way, so that participants can perform actions, discuss, rewind, and re-do things, and actively engage in reflective prioritisation and decision making in critical situations, with real-time feedback.

Unlike some courses, faculty on ETM Advanced are there to support, coach and gently challenge participants through structured sessions and shared experience.  There’s no tricks or suprises in the simulation scenarios. There’s actually no assessment. We aim to provide a safe, fun and supportive learning environment while you learn how to manage some of the most difficult and complex medical situations you will ever face.

We guarantee that when you leave ETM Advanced, you will have the systems, knowledge, skills and confidence to manage the sickest trauma patients you’ve ever seen.

If this sounds like something you want to try, register for ETM Advanced here.

NB The ETM Course is assumed knowledge, and prior attendance at the ETM Course is a pre-requisite for attending ETM Advanced.
