ETM Podcast Episode 7 – Michael Fitzharris

Michael Fitzharris is an Associate Professor at the Monash University Accident Research Centre (MUARC).  In this episode we speak to Michael about the very broad range of trauma research, prevention and safety countermeasure activities that MUARC is involved in, from providing evidence for the development of the world class Victorian State Trauma System over a decade ago, road safety measures such as crash barriers and car safety ratings, right through to in-depth crash analysis studies, research into the contribution of alcohol, medical conditions and medication effects to motor vehicle accidents, and the ongoing psychological effects of trauma.

This is a fascinating behind-the-scenes look at the huge amount of work going on to mitigate the effects of trauma in Australia, by a world-class research institute.
